Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated PLDP to join our Production Team. In this role, you will work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure the quality of raw materials and finished feed, ensuring proper documentation is maintained throughout the process. This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining quality standards, following standard operating procedures, conducting tests, and supervising production activities to guarantee the production of safe and nutritious animal feed. Compliance with the company’s biosecurity measures is essential to ensuring feed quality and the health of the poultry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Testing: Conduct in-house quality tests on raw materials and in-process products, generating detailed reports on results and actions taken.
- External Analysis Coordination: Organize samples for external analysis and ensure timely follow-up on the results.
- Product Compliance: Ensure that the feed produced and sold meets the necessary quality expectations and animal health requirements.
- Calibration of Equipment: Ensure all weighing equipment is calibrated before production to maintain measurement accuracy.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation of all feed mill activities.
- Training: Facilitate training for team members as per the scheduled training plan, ensuring proper understanding and implementation of quality standards.
- Production Supervision: Supervise feed mill production activities, ensuring all ingredients are weighed accurately, and all production processes run smoothly.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor to support the feed mill’s operations.
Requirement Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Food Science and Technology, Animal Production, Biochemistry, Agriculture, or any related field.

- Flexibility: Ability and willingness to work night shifts and adapt to dynamic work schedules.
- Quick Learner: Ability to quickly understand new concepts, procedures, and industry standards.

Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated sales Admin Intern to join our Sales Department .In this role you will be responsible for supporting Uzima sales functions in all administrative activities, such as organizing order collection and order submission, serving as point of contact for sales team inquiries, and giving updates to the sales team daily concerning dispatch lists.You will collaborate closely with Finance and Operations Departments.
The sales admin position demands a high level of professionalism, commitment and motivation, as well as great communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating sales quotes of orders from the sales team using Uzima’s order collection process daily; liaise with the Finance team to confirm payment for orders on chicks and feed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Organizing dispatch list in line with the waiting period of 2-3 weeks, based on guidelines such as first come first serve and route plan
- Timely submission of orders to operations to ensure timely organization of dispatch
- Contact clients to obtain missing information concerning their orders
- Improving Sales order process Via sales team Relations with Guidance from the Supervisor.
- Follow up on agent compensations
- Share relevant reporting with sales teams, such as pipeline status and order status
- Sales team campaigns & programs – e.g.,, motorcycle loans, expos and events, swag
- Supporting onboarding and offboarding activities related to District Sales Reps
- Adopting all company tools related to order processing and sales dashboard
- Weekly RSM and ASMs mileage report
- Follow up payment transfers
- Any other activity assigned by the supervisor.
Requirement Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with the sales team in a friendly and professional manner
- Should be problem solving
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) or Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Slide, Google Sheets)
- Highly detail-oriented and process-oriented, with a highly developed sense of reliability and responsibility

Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated, highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical individual to ensure smooth collection and reporting of cost information. This role has significant growth potential, as Uzima plans to grow exponentially over the next few years. The Cost Accounting Trainee is responsible for building, tracking, and executing all processes related to cost accounting.
This includes recording, posting, adjusting, reconciling, and reporting production-related financial information. Managing these activities include generating regular reports, ensuring compliance with reporting standards. This role reports to the Costing Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
Costing & Inventory Management.
- Take part in the inventory and costing procedures related to accurately track COGS and managing company inventory; includes responsibility for running production reports in Cin7 Core, collecting and filing documentation related to inventory, and producing monthly reports on key cost areas.
- Conduct random inventory checks and ensure accuracy in inventory reports. • Raise and record variable costs such as purchases of raw material and operations
- Maintain and review the general ledger and reconcile balance sheet inventory items on a weekly basis.
- Analyse costs of raw materials and other supplies and create cost-benefit analysis for changing vendors.
- Assisting in month-end and year-end closing by preparing production reports. • Take a Think Like an Owner attitude to inventory management, cost controls, reporting by providing proactive solutions and recommendations for constant
- Work with the Costing Supervisor to build cost tracking systems in accounting
- System track depots’ inventory movement activities to ensure accurate maintenance of records and adherence to controls. Take lead in stores and feed depot stalks on weekly and monthly basis.
- Produce weekly and monthly Feed depots and store reports for management. • Produce weekly and monthly inventory reconciliation reports for management.
External Stakeholder Management.
- Maintain relationships with key business partners like suppliers on discrepancy reconciliations of statements.
- Support in providing information to external auditors during periodic audits. 3. Support the costing supervisor during month end reporting (petty cash reconciliation, stock takes, etc).
- Carry out any other activities as assigned from time to time I have read, understood and agreed to the terms of reference set out above.
Requirement Qualifications:
- Passionate about positively impacting smallholder farmers and customers in rural areas
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; relevant certification

Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated Junior General Maintenance to join our Production department. In this role, you will be responsible for all maintenance work on the farm. The main objective of the position is to ensure effective and efficient work of all Electrical, plumbing, sanitary, machines (Generators, water pumps and Air conditioners), repair of building parts (doors & windows), and wood works in the farm by coordinating the team and his involvement. The maintenance activity performed with the procedures, schedules and guides given by the manager. He/she communicates with the production to make the operation smooth. Then by doing this he/she assures us we fulfil the operational requirements to maximize production. All these are done based on maintenance procedures and company policy. You will collaborate closely with the maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare maintenance and repair SOP, procedure, Schedule and adhere for it.
- Follow all the rules, procedures and policies of the company for maintenance operation.
- Use all rules and procedures given by the maintenance operation, as long as required.
- Ensure compliance with all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
- Make effective maintenance of Building Electrical installation, machine maintenance, equipment maintenance.
- Make effective plumbing work, sanitary work, building parts repair and wood works.
- Coordinates renovation of existing facilities and construction of new facilities as requests raised and order and by self-starter
- Make the downtime of machines, equipment, utilities and facilities in an optimum working condition.
- Execute the preventive maintenance and other maintenance activities according to the given schedule.
- Does general repairs such as painting, patching walls, security hard wares, hanging shelves etc….
- Forecasting proper and timely supply of spare parts, components, accessories, materials, consumables and tools with proper inventory control.
- Keep records for utilization of spare parts, material consumed and maintenance records.
- Follow up daily maintenance work
- Follow up enough water is available at the tankers/ water reservoirs and pump when accordingly,
- Responsible for completing all data where applicable for closing work orders daily after delivery to production and their sign for acceptance.
- Willing to be on-call and open his phone cell all the time including nighttime in case of Emergency.
- Execute related duties as given by the manager.
Requirement Qualifications:
- Demonstrates functional knowledge of Electrical installation system, machine maintenance (Generator, Electrical pumps, Cooling systems and Equipment), and repair of plumbing systems.
- Demonstrates functional knowledge of the safety precautions of the maintenance works.
- Had skill of working and coordinating teams.
- Ability to meet and deal with team employees, and Internal/External customers.
- Ability to read and understand drawings of Electrical, plumbing and sanitary systems.
- Ability to install, inspect, repair and maintain the electrical installation, plumbing, sanitary works and other related systems of the farm.
- Ability to inspect, operate and maintain the heating, cooling and ventilation system and Generator follow up.
- Has knowledge of tools and material handling properly and lead the team to follow.
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions.
- Has skill to services Generator, Ac/cooler machine and electrical machines.
- Through knowledge of the hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
- Ability to follow maintenance procurers work orders and make records after maintenance executions.
- Physical ability and flexibility to perform duties and responsibilities of the job.
- The candidate must have the flexibility to work weekend, night and holiday shifts

Job Title: Hatchery Officer
Department: Production – Kawempe
Reports to: Hatchery Manager
Location: Kawempe, Uganda
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Hatchery officer is responsible for achieving industry standards for hatchability of high quality DOCs to increase the profitability of the Company. In addition, the Hatchery officer is responsible for communicating and reporting critical information to other departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Egg Receiving
- Ensure timely and safe receiving of eggs at the hatchery
- Ensure proper receiving, inspection, grading and sorting of hatching eggs to Make standards for settable eggs and follow-up
Egg Storage
- Ensure appropriate room temperature and humidity for eggs based on storage duration
- Ensure all egg refrigerators and air conditioners are well-maintained
Setting, Transfer, and Hatching
- Ensure the second point of Quality control on setting eggs
- Ensure the oldest eggs are set first (first in first out)
- Ensure proper pre-warming of eggs from the cold store
- Ensure efficient, fast, smooth and timely egg transfer and candling
- Ensure proper selection and grading of DOCs
- Ensure proper disposal of hatchery waste
- Ensure all layers males are dead before they leave the farm for disposal o Ensure proper an timely cleaning of equipment after hatch and transfer.
Incubation Management
- Monitor targets for setting temperature, humidity, CO2/ventilation, and turning
- Monitor EST and EWL of each machine and compare with the breed standards regularly
- Monitor machine performance and staff achievement of targets
- Monitor dry and wet bulb thermometers and compare them with the screen and calibrator
- Ensure all wicks in the wet bulb thermometers are clean
Hatchery Maintenance
- Develop routine preventative maintenance for incubators, chillers, egg refrigerators, ACs, building, ventilation, and all other equipment.
- Improve hatchery environment (cleanliness, design, ventilation)
- Make decisions to conduct hatchery repairs in-house or outsource based on urgency and economic efficiency
- Make priority of assignments by discussing them with the maintenance team
Biosecurity and Quality Control
- Periodically review and improve adequate biosecurity program
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the hatchery and surroundings
- Set clear standards and ensure all chicks from the hatchery are Grade A quality
- Monitor vaccine storage, handling, thawing and vaccination procedures
- Monitor the accuracy of vaccinators (dosing, cleaning and sterilizing equipment)
- Conduct breakout analysis and discuss with the team points of improvements
General Management
- Provide reports to Company management and other departments as requested
- Ensure proper reporting of DOCs as finished goods and tracking of consumables/equipment from store
- Keep records of all eggs coming to the hatchery, going to store and incubators and calculate if there is any difference in a regular way
- Identify staff development gaps and conduct training to improve performance and management
- Prepare checklists for attendants and supervisors
- Carry out Coaching, evaluation and performance management plans for the team and Subordinates.
- Ensure a report of weekly ( from Sunday to Saturday) egg stock that is received from breeding eggs in cold stores, the discarded eggs which are table, cracked & broken and report on time.
- Keep a recording of daily DOC no DOC wastages
- Prepare and send a report of disease prevalence/epidemiology report on the site to district veterinary expert on a weekly/monthly basis
And other tasks deemed necessary need to be solved by discussing with the hatchery Site manager or production director.
